Does anyone know if the 22BR cartridge drawing is of the Remington case or Lapua case? The drawing in the 22br section of the site. From what I understand they are different in base size somewhat. I've been told that the Lapua brass is larger in the base area.
thanks James

Here's the 22BR drawing, which comes from Accurate Powder:

Here is Lapua's cartridge print, dimensions in mm:

On our unfired Lapua Brass, the actual width of the rim is .469" measured with calipers. The width of the case right above the extractor grove is just slightly under that--mabye .4684", but it is hard to get a more precise measurement with calipers because there is some case taper. That suggests the 22BR drawing is correct for Lapua brass, except the rim diameter is over-size. But note, the Lapua blueprint corresponds to a .47244" rim diameter, which is also wider than actual Lapua brass as measured (.469").

I was wondering because I have some older Lapua 6br brass and it does not fit in my new 40xb 6BR Remington unless I run it through a redding small base die. But I just bought a new box of Lapua 6BR Norma brass and it fits just fine? But anyway I am building a 22Br and getting a barrel from Pac-Nor and was wondering what the 22br drawing was for Rem or Lapua which is 6BR Norma brass. Everyone says that there is a difference in case size at the bottom. So i'm just going to send Pac-nor about 5 dummy rounds of Lapua brass and have them cut me a 22br barrel for my Savage build. Thanks for all your help.
