The .223 recoil in the somewhat lighter Contender is about all I care to deal with for long bench shooting with a pistol. My question is--how much more recoil will I get from a 6BR. If anyone out there has a an TC in 6BR maybe they could respond--is it like a .38 spec / 44 spec, type of recoil or is it more like a .357 mag. The best would be someone with experience shooting both .223 and 6 BR--even a rifle comparison would help--i.e., 6 is about 30% more with similar weight and velocity of bullet, etc. Plan on holding bullet weight to 60 - 70 grains and moderate , but accurate velocities--will not be using 105's at max pressures, etc.

I have checked a number of recoil charts, calculators and this list's archives and still am left with some questions.
Some odd things like 22 accelerator in 30/06 has more than twice recoil than .223 with same bullet weight and velocity, etc.--why would that be--more efficient case delivers less recoil all other factors held constant?

I have an OTT 6BR 16.25" SS full bull barrel 1-14 twist. I shoot 65 grain v-max bullets. It is a tack driver and recoil is no more than a 223 my opinion. also have a Bullberry 6BR 16" semi bull blue with a 1-8 twist that is also a tack driver I shoot the heavier bullets in this one and recoil is a bit more, but still suitable for target and Varmit hunting. I have all the BR's 22,6, and 7BR. Love them all. lou
