The
West Custom Rifles number 007 Varminter is based on a Richard Franklin design (Greg West took over Franklin's stock-making business). This is a very popular "do-it-all" varminting stock, with medium drop, roll-over comb, and a wide beaver-tail fore-end. It is similar to the Cooper Firearms' varminter stock. Cost is $225 in basic Rutland laminate, or $275 in laminated walnut. The example pictured is made from laminated AAA-grade curley maple, which adds about $300 to the base $225 price. Add $50 for a contrasting hardwood fore-end tip.
